Tomás Fosch Quintet
10€ / 5€ musicians
Every Thursday of June we will have jam sessions in which musicians and the audience can participate in a big jazz party. There will be improvisations as well as replicas, all of this lead by Claudio Marrero.
Claudio Marrero is a saxophone player, songwriter, lead member of the project BEO (Big Electric Orchestra) amongst others. BEO joins 22 musicians on stage to create a mixture of jazz music with new music genres such as hip-hop, electronic music, pop… creating a unique sound.
This time, the jam session will be preceded by a concert by Tomas Fosch Quintet.
He has three albums and "Solid Society" (2019) is the third of his career, after his debut with "Hake Jazz" (Quadrant, 2013) and "MASO" (Temps Record, 2016), an album that gathers his experience in the USA, a country in which he lived during a long period of time. "Solid Society" includes original pieces by Tomás Fosch and standard arrangements with touches of hard-bop. It evokes his experience in the current Barcelona, a period of songwriting and introspection, of interaction with other musicians, of creation of a solid, firm, timeless sound, at the antipodes of the liquid society. Fosch, an original musician with a speech reminiscent of the most modern jazz piano, was trained at the Liceu Conservatory and later at the UNT in Texas. Tomás has received classes and master classes with Aaron Goldberg, Michael Kanan, Stefan Karlsson, Michael Palma, Jerry Bergonzi, Tygran Hamasyan, Mariano Diaz, among others.
Come and join the most participative and jazzy event in Barcelona!
With the special collaboration of San Miguel Mahou.
